Why should we pay tax?
Why should we pay tax?
The capital of world’s largest democracy has become the capital of pornography and violence against women. It has become the hub of the largest scams and scandals. Those who are ruling at least some of them are qualified to lie behind the bars. The nature is exploited, its wealth being looted away by politicians and MNCs. Environment is devastating. Worst perjurers are seated on the throne. Thirty percentage of the population is below poverty line. This is the story of a country which has spent 65 ‘successful’ years of independence. One can easily guess that this is all about one and only India which was renowned for its unique ancient divine culture where women were respected, kings ruled for people’s sake and nature was treated as god. There only faith and goodness prevailed. Equality and fraternity was followed. This has now become the official trend of the whole world. But are we adhered to our fundamental ideas and culture? Are we still a model to the whole world? Thinking of these we become ashamed of ourselves, having so much downgraded, into the gutter of violence and evilness.
Our sisters are feared to enter the street. They are likely to be raped anywhere, at the crowd, in the running bus or inside the closed suit. Rapists have widened the age limit of their hit list thanks to internet porn sites and films that feature such stories. These have made raping a most dignified job for such people. Where the authorities fail, the entire force fails, the continuing stories of gang rapes are filling the front page of news papers. And calls for legislative amendments… But our sisters are not safe under any roof.
The purpose of paying tax is that it would ensure a safe living for every citizen. But when authorities fail in keeping up their promise should we pay them tax?
Why should we? Where all the money we pay for our own sake is looted away by politicians and MNCs. The plight of the majority at one side and the luxurious life of the minority… In contrast democracy hasn’t lessened but widened the gap between rich and the poor. Even the revealed scams are uncountable. The CWG scam, 2G scam, Adarsh flat controversy, Tetra truck scandal, Helicopter deal, Coal allocation and land allocation scams… Then what about the undisclosed ones? To be frank, billions and billions of rupees of the common man has been plundered by the minority. Should we pay tax for this?
Our environment is being disrupted. Natural resources even water is exploited, rivers being polluted. But what do our politicians do? Helping those human devils to tear the depleted nature to a greater extend and intensifying the loopholes to assist wetland reclamation. Thus causing global warming and then discussing for no avail about rectifying these environmental problems at a luxurious summit, splitting without a decision to make sure that the can provide people another occasion to ‘enjoy’ in the next year. Should we pay tax for this?
The internal problems of Naxalism, Maoism, Telangana and terrorism from the foreign, the Kashmir problem, prolonged terrorist attacks, bombing series… None is spared off the fear that they would be attacked anywhere at any place by unanimous personalities. The Mumbai blast, the Bangalore blasts, and regional revolts… It has to be confessed that illiteracy and underdevelopment has played a greater role in these integral problems of our country- the fruit of government’s carelessness. No one is safe- inside or outside the borders. Should we pay tax for this?
Energy is blowing out frequently. Development is lying in limbo. Illiteracy and poverty prevails still now. Tribal people are being exploited and forests devastated. Everywhere it is vulture eyes staring at you. Locked hungry lions wait to tear you apart. It is not the functionary to be changed including the people, the bureaucrats
, the rulers…
